Is orthodontics covered by insurance?

We are “in-network” providers with all major insurances and our insurance specialists will prepare and file all the necessary paperwork on your behalf to make the process simple, convenient, and affordable. We will be able to verify your orthodontic benefits prior to your first appointment to be able to give you a clear financial picture of treatment. Our top priority is to deliver the highest levels of care and service.

Isn't orthodontics just for teens?

Actually – not at all! We serve kids, teens and adults – for orthodontic issues ranging from bite issues, crowding issues, sleep issues and more. We're all about delivering healthy smiles that efficiently and effectively treat the patient's needs – whatever age they begin treatment! (For the record, AOA recommends having your first orthodontic consultation at 7 years old!)

How long does treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the amount of tooth movement required to meet your treatment goals. Most treatments take 10–18 months or less in our office, but ultimately your biology is the limiting factor.

How much does it cost?

At Hatcher & Frey Orthodontics, the cost of orthodontic care is all-inclusive and based on your individual orthodontic needs. The best way to evaluate your options is to schedule a complimentary consultation.  

When can I get started?

Right away! We can schedule your consultation within a few days of your request. The majority of our offices can accommodate 7am - 5pm appointments, while our Norfolk office is open early (7am), open late (7pm) and on Saturdays.

Does my location matter?

We have five convenient locations in Hampton Roads to serve our in-person appointments: Western Branch, Great Bridge, Norfolk Premium Outlets, West Ghent and the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We also offer virtual care appointments for folks who aren't able to come into the office.

Do you offer financing or discounts?

Hatcher & Frey Orthodontics wants to eliminate the roadblocks to quality orthodontic care. We are extremely flexible with financing so that we can develop a payment plan to fit your budget. We offer courtesies for educators, first responders, military families, multiple family members, and payment in full.

Do my family members qualify?

Yes! You can use your First Responder Courtesy for yourself, your spouse, or any of your dependents. While you can use it multiple times for different members of your family, it can't be combined with other promotional offers (with the exception of our pay-in-full courtesy).

Can I be too old for treatment?

You are never too old for orthodontic treatment. Also, we want to treat your issues as quickly as possible. Hatcher & Frey Orthodontics accelerates most adult orthodontic treatment, most of our cases can be completed in less than a year. The complexity of treatment and your biology is the limiting factor.
